*Update: Think the person never receive my sms cos he called back again the next day. Anyway so I explained to him but he doesnt really seem to get it. Like the next minute he called back again. Then explained again. And he never dial back le up till now.. So hopefully he manage to call back to India. But hor use HP dial shld be quite expensive leh! Somemore he said his bills are $200-$300?? I wonder where he dial to??!
*Still feel a little irritated because he seemed to blamed his not being able to dial to India on me and sort of expect me to solve it and also he questioned me on like his $200-$300 phone bills like how would I know??! But I understand his frustrations just that some feelings are natural. Lol I can never be a saint* P.S Bleh he nv pick up PK's call.
There is this number on my phone which I named "Blacklist."
The reason being that he has been calling repeatedly for the past few weeks at late hours like 12 midnight or 1am. I have answered the 1st few calls and told him that it is the wrong number. He is trying to dial to India. But still he calls. Since then I didn't answer any of his calls until tonight.
He called like 10 times tonight. I picked up on the 9th call and blasted at him.
"Please stop calling this number. I have told you that this is the wrong number and this is a Singapore phone number."
And then he said, "I am not playing a prank. Seriously I am trying to call my wife in India. The phone number is 91xxxxxx 335."
But I was still in the heated up mood and said coldly, "this is a Singapore phone. I don't know how to dial to India."
Then he said, "I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. Sorry."
Once I hanged up the phone, I started to feel bad. And then he started to call again but I didnt answer. That was the last call.
I started to think, he came to Singapore all alone and for the past few weeks has been calling my number, which means he hasn't been able to call him wife at all. So both party cant get each other, both party worry about each other. & like PK says, for something like IDD so easy to google for in like one min, or perhaps just ask his friends, it probably means that the person has internet/no friends. Also he is probably a low pay worker. For something we take so much for granted, I guess we need to step back and take a wider look. My impatience has a lot to do with "he should know how to make an IDD call correctly" and "can he stop calling?". I guess sometimes we need to think of how some people might not be as information-savvy as us.
So I called him back but he didnt answer. Wanted to tell him how to call to India with PK's IDD search results. End up I sent a sms to him. See how bah. PK said if he didnt reply or anything, he will call him. In his words - "mebbe drop him a call. and make a smile ~". I wonder how many people will think his way. I know many people who are super racist and probably think he is crazy. But if everyone can think like him, the world will definitely be a better place. Can you remember the times you were so grateful with a stranger's help? We are not that superior, there are times we need help from others too.
If only, at the very first call, I had thought of helping him to dial to India. It will probably save a lot of heartache and endless dialings for him. And it probably will just take one min of my time.
