A new start for a new year. Just that I have been a procrastinator. Also wanted a space with easier readability and bigger pictures ^^ Well this blog is still at its minimal, still thinking of how to design it. Time to pick up my rusty HTML and CSS skills. That is, if I can find time.
Had tons of things to blog about, but school has been exceptionally super busy since the start.
One reason is because I am taking 6 modules this sem, and 4 of them non-examinable -_-!
What have I been busy with?
Lets see, I finished one presentation for NM4204, of it we had a total of five meetings, and three of them were on mon, tue and wed - the presentation was on thurs. By far the most meetings I ever had for one presentation, but very fun we did an interview clip and a Miss Green Show. I edited the interview clip video in one day. Right now starting meetings on another presentation for NM4202. So far we had two meetings, with another meeting coming up on Mon. We are going to do a talk show for this! Oh yeah and I still got to do more research for this.
And then there are the blog posts for NM4210. This week project is group work, on how to improve learning in LTs. So gonna sit in some random lectures and observe people. Then had to do tutorials for CS3265, to be submitted on almost every Mon. Very irritatingly I am stuck on one with economics concepts like cournot and bertrand and equations which I have no idea how to solve. Luckily Sabrina offered to help, though she went to sleep now and I am still stuck with the equations. Then also had NM3217, which we had to find a company to do PR for. Right now though I have chosen the company, I had no initiative to contact them yet. =x. And the company research report is due soon. Die. Yeah also had to do the web critique thing, which is due on Mon. Then CS228, the NTU module, the first lesson we had a mini interview and on-the-spot report. Stress. Then the homework was to do a PR plan for an event to promote a global Singapore image in Chinese. OMG. My Chinese is so damn rusty! I lost the ability to crap in Chinese. Sobz. Damn. Somemore, I didnt really know what to write. Hope I wrote the correct things. Then this week homework is to do a brochure for NTU SCI. Hello, I am not from NTU and I have never use Microsoft Publisher before. Grr. Oh yah and had to be start getting enthu about forum postings for NM4202 and NM4210 else I will never get participation marks since I am never gonna speak up in class.
After all these rants, I am sure you all get the point of how bz I am with school. That is if you manage to get through all these words. Lol. I suspect school work is going to get busier once all the projects pile in. Especially with NM3217 and NM4210.
And then there are nuSTUDIOS stuffs. The normal meetings, which we had to settle misc stuff and such. The AGM, which we had to do interviews and meetings for. And yes I have finally stepped down from all committees! But then I just got myself into being the editor for "Indian Instrumental" video, so gotta find time to edit the video once Weijie record the voiceover. Also went for the Library @ Esplanade talk yesterday and became trigger happy, taking photos of the event. We screened "Friday Morning", one of the production that I was involved in as art direction/makeup artiste. Then we had Gillian and Biyun (same bday as me!) to talk about the show+ Melinda to host. Suddenly feel the urge to do productions, but then I will be going to U.S so no chance of that.
And of course I am busy with work, though I rarely work now since the motivation to work has plunged sharply. But of course I do work, just to earn $$ for my US trip and to drink free coffee and watch free shows. So far for DC, I had done 3 different shows. Well the most recent DC show I watched/worked for is "Multiple Personalities Disorder", the stand-up comedy by Hossan Leong. Not a bad show, super funny in fact, but it would have been much better if I had known more of those 'foreign talents' he was imitating. The James Bond + Mr Brown part was damn funny! =) Another show I did this year was "Intrigues in the Qing Imperial Court", which is Chinese Opera sing in English. Good try but a total flop. The English words just don't fit in. And some of the translations are super funny. You hear the teens laughing like crazy because of the weird words the actors speak in their Qing costumes. I think some Angmohs loved that show though, you know, the exotic Asian appeal. But no, I would have preferred Opera in Chinese or Cantonese anytime. The other show I did was "Forbidden Chestnuts" with the dirty little jokes and spoofs. Like the "Death Note" spoof. Damn funny. They had this child who just got a new (death)notebook and of course when he got a new notebook he would write his name in so that nobody can steal it. So write his name he did and somemore put neoprint. Haha and dead he was. Then another one was they had a dyslexia female Kira who cannot kill the one she wanted after writing many combinations of names down. Even after she saw the name plate she couldnt get the name correct. Super funny!
US trip so far I have paid $210 for the VISA and also done the VISA interview, of which I waited damn long in the queue and ended up being late for classes when I thought I would reach school earlier. Miraculously my photo that YB printed for me was approved when both YB and BH ones were not. Weird. My interview was rather short, think the person got bored of asking. The first student that I saw interviewed practically got asked everything you could and could not think of. Yeah then also paid for the freaking expensive airtickets - almost $1800 for China Airlines. Sure is kena chopped one. But no choice. Sadly Ying Er cannot come on the trip with me. Haiz. Say speedwing forever not replying her. But well I shall look forward to seeing Kevin in Florida. =)
Other things that I am going to be involved in is "The Theatre Practice Volunteers Programme" aka TTPVP. Been to the welcome tea and saw some familar faces. ^^
Also went for NUSAS overnight observations at ECP, the sky wasnt that great but still can see some stars. Bad thing is, I totally forgot all that I have learnt and can only recognise Orion 0_o.
Also went out with Eunice, JF and Drey where we had a crazy fast food binge. Like right after many packets of fries in Macs we went to KFC for cheese fries, popcorn chicken etc. Crazy bunch of ppl we are. JF, have fun in India! Then after that me and Drey went out with Louis, hanging out in Kino and geting fascinated with dancing pringles can in Action City. These are the friends I love so much.
Some other things I was up to - hanging out at Li Yuan bazaar store, having lunch with PQ, Ningjing and Minghui, having lunch with Ai Ren aka Hoiting, BK treating me & Biyun & Izmir @ Curry Flavour, post production party for Wizard of Oz where the big 5 treated the young ones to Moonfish restuarant, making popcorn with Liuhang @ PGP, going to my cousin Jiaying house to print some stuff and watched her try to cook.
Hmm then watched some movies - "Death Note 1 & 2", "One Last Dance", "Big Bang Love", "Blood Diamond" and "Il Mare". Watched dramas too - "One litres of tears", "Triumph in the skies". Watched anime too - "Death Note". Basically got hooked with watching all these nice shows! =)
Haha didnt mean this to be such a long and wordy post. But super lazy to edit the pictures now. Next post perhaps. If I got time lar.
